Best passer in the history of Paris Saint-Germain, Angel Di Maria spoke to Téléfoot on Sunday about his love for the club

He is now part of the executives of his team.

Arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in 2015, Angel Di Maria has 270 matches in the blue and red tunic and renewed, last season, his contract which runs until 2022, or even 2023. In an interview given to Téléfoot (TF1) , the Argentine midfielder delivered on Sunday his love for the club in the capital and his great ambitions to complete his Parisian adventure.

"Leaving PSG without having won the Champions League would be very hard," he confided, while he touched on this dream in 2020, during the defeat of PSG against Bayern Munich (0-1 ).

Di Maria assures him without batting an eyelid: "I would exchange all my trophies against a Champions League with PSG", he who has already lifted the cup with big ears with Real Madrid in 2014.

A few hours from Classico, Angel Di Maria reviewed the film of his 6 years at PSG, and gave himself straight to @JulienMaynard in a long interview

"I missed playing with Messi"

With the arrival of Lionel Messi in the Parisian workforce this season, the group also reminds him of the year of his coronation in Madrid in C1: “Mbappé, Messi and Neymar are three exceptional players, this group is very similar to what I experienced at Real in 2014. The three can play together and the best awaits us.

"

“It's one of the things that I missed playing with Leo [Messi], he confessed.

He has always been the best player on the planet and will continue to be.

What he does in matches or in training, no one else does.

We must therefore take advantage of the moment.

"Even if Angel Di Maria concedes," La Pulga "has not yet regained its real level and the cohesion on the ground still leaves much to be desired.

Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.), against Olympique de Marseille, the two Argentines will experience their first Classic together.

A particular match that Di Maria places on a pedestal: “The Classics are the best matches, we want to play them and win them, but with style.

“As far as he is concerned, the Parisian midfielder with 80 goals prefers to shine thanks to the penultimate gesture.

Because on an individual level, the Argentine international has already ticked the box that mattered most to him: “My biggest goal was to stay in the history of the club by bringing me closer to the record of assists.

I did and now my name will stick.

"With the bar of 104 assists delivered reached in May 2021, Di Maria overtook Safet Susic and marked a little more the legend of Paris Saint-Germain.

In taking stock of his Parisian adventure, Angel Di Maria certifies that “coming to Paris was the best decision of [his] life”.

One of his daughters was born there, while he was becoming a child at the Parc des Princes.

“My family is the most important,” he testified.

But that of PSG is for him almost as much.
