Greg Popovich argues: Yannis Antokompo has the qualities needed to become one of the greatest players of all time.
After the Greek freak scored 21 points, took 8 rebounds, handed out 8 assists and added 3 blocks in a 111: 121 win over the Spurs, the legendary coach explained that what sets him apart is the character.
"When he came to the league you could see the potential, but I think no one in the league knew what passion and work ethic he has. To get where he is, talent alone is not enough. You need a lot of character. You have to be in a cruel mood in every game, in every training session. "Shack, Kobe, Duncan, Magic Johnson and players at those levels had it, and so has Yannis," he explains.
"When you take Yannis' talent, physicality and special character - obviously the sky is the limit for him. He continues to work, and I have no doubt that he will continue to improve in everything related to shooting from the outside."

And while Yannis is trying to maintain his status as an MVP, another European star wants to become one.
To be honest, Luka Doncic was not very far from that last season, but this season Mark Cuban expects him to get even closer, maybe even win the ultimate personal award.
"For me he is one of the leading candidates for the MVP of the season. I want him to get there, he knows he is capable, but he will have to earn it. He must prove he is at that level," Cuban said after the Slovenian finished with 27 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds in Dallas' 95-103 win over Toronto.
At the group level, Cuban still does not know what to expect.
"I'm convinced Kristaps Forzingis will be back to the KP we knew - a unicorn who does amazing things on the pitch. He's going to help Luca a lot. On the other hand, it's not going to be easy. When you have a player like Luca, everyone talks about you, "Out of 30 teams in the league, 27 currently believe they can make it to the playoffs. We will have to work very hard to get far in the West, because really this year everything is open."

* Golden State has prepared a special "surprise" for Clay Thompson after being left out of the list of the 75 greatest players of all time in the NBA.
When he entered the locker room in the night training, a new tank top with the number 77 was waiting for the injured Shooting Guard - for the low rating he had received.
"77! The best player of all time!", Drymond Green is seen bursting out laughing alongside Steph Kerry as Thompson is exposed to the toss.
"I'm glad he's reacting to it with humor and not getting upset, because he's definitely in the top 75 ever," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of Thompson, who has been suffering from injuries for the past two years and hopes to return during the season.
"No doubt his teammates made him laugh, but I know how competitive he is, and know that such a thing can only add to his drive."
* The Lakers are trying to recover from the disappointing start to the season, and are already facing a disciplinary incident throughout the league after two games - the urgent exchange between Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard on the bench.
Rejon Rondo said in team training tonight that he was surprised by the confrontation between the two, noting that "things like this can happen. These two guys may not be best friends, but they usually get along very well."
Rondo added: "There is frustration on the pitch sometimes. Obviously we need to control it better, but I believe we are in a much better place than one thinks in terms of the energies on the team and the connection between the players."
