Led by Lea Sophie Friedrich, Emma Hinze and Lisa Brennauer, the German track cycling team put on a furious World Cup in France. Friedrich also won gold in the Keirin on the final day on Sunday and is the most successful athlete of the competitions in Roubaix with three gold and one silver. Hinze and Brennauer also contributed significantly to the strong record of the team of the Federation of German Cyclists (BDR) with two golds each - and even made the poor Olympic record from Tokyo forget for a few days.

“The mood is great.

We are simply all a team and we are mutually happy for one another.

Everyone is there with full ambition, that's why I treat everyone to it.

We cried together, these are just goose bumps, ”said Friedrich, who, in addition to her three titles, also took silver in the sprint and was only defeated by Hinze.

The superior victory in the Keirin on Sunday showed the whole class of 21-year-olds once again.

"It feels really nice and is a bit unbelievable," said the 24-year-old Hinze, who complained about the immense pressure after Tokyo and now freed herself in northern France with brilliant sporting performances.

In total, the Germans won six golds and eleven medals - a strong record.

In the women's sprint, Team Germany cemented the supremacy from Berlin when they won four titles in four disciplines.

Hinze was able to draw a line under Olympia.

"I still had a few bills to settle," she said.

Joachim Eilers took bronze in the time trial

The foursome, unbeatable this year, showed once again on Saturday that it consists of several strong individual athletes.

Franziska Brauße won silver and only had to admit defeat to Brennauer in the German final, Mieke Kröger completed the triple triumph.

The trio was an integral part of the gold foursome, who even had to do without Lisa Klein due to injury in Roubaix.

The men couldn't keep up with the women's gold flood, but they delivered decent results.

Joachim Eilers won bronze in the 1000 meter time trial and was also part of the quartet that won bronze in the team sprint.

“We did a lot of work.

My form got better every time, we want to build on that.

That motivates me to be rewarded with a medal again, ”said Eilers.

Stefan Bötticher missed a third bronze medal in the sprint on Sunday - both in the semifinals and in the small final he was defeated just after three rounds.
