"Like in the Holocaust": Joey Barton spoke in an unusual way and caused a stir

Not for the first time and probably not for the last time either - Joey Barton got involved.

The former player who currently coaches Bristol Rovers in League 2, recorded his fourth straight game without a win, after absorbing 3-1 from Newport County at home.

Following the loss of points, Bristol dropped to 18th place out of 24 teams, and is in real danger of relegation.

At the end, in a post-match interview, Barton talked about his team's loss, compared the ability of his players to the Holocaust and as a result received much criticism in the kingdom.

"Our team is like playing musical chairs," Barton said.

"A player gets into things, but then he gets injured and is absent. Another player excels, and immediately afterwards he is suspended. Another player plays well in one game, and in the next game looks like a Holocaust or a nightmare."

Many surfers were quick to respond to Barton's remarks on social media, while the Sussex Friends of Israel organization - an English organization that supports Israel - also reacted sharply to the coach's remarks. "The use of the term 'Holocaust' has become so common in recent years that idiots think it can be used in context to describe a bad football team game. If we have to remind people like Barton that 6 million Jews perished in the Holocaust - our situation is not good."

Barton was involved in many incidents while he was an active player. Early in his career at Manchester City he put out a cigar in the eye of team-mate Jamie Tandy. A year later, during a Citizens training camp in Thailand, he hit a 15-year-old fan. Raising his hand and placing his other hand on his mustache, when in Britain they were quick to determine that this was a certain tribute to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime.
