Hapoel Tel Aviv - Maccabi Rishon Lezion 79: 104

Both teams started the season with two losses, but only one of them, Hapoel Tel Aviv, managed to stop the snowball. Danny Franco's team showed dominance from the start and led by 17 points at the beginning of the second quarter. Igor Kolshov returned the Oranges to matters with 11 consecutive points, but not enough to erase the big advantage. In the second half the Reds opened burners once more, and from there the visitors could no longer return. Guy Goodes, the new coach of the Israeli team, is already counting a third loss in a row and he closes the table together with Nes Ziona. James Young stood out with 23 points for the Reds, while Kolshov led the defeated team with 17.

James Young and Jacoben Brown started well for the Reds, but Malik Day showed dominance in color and with six points reduced the red lead to 14: 16. From there, Danny Franco's team flew for a 4:15 run. Bar Timor looked great towards the end of the quarter, which ended

at 18:31 red.

The Reds started the second quarter from where they left off and JP Tokoto raised his team to 18:35.

The guest then went out for an amazing 0:13 run, with Igor Kolshov leading it with 11 consecutive points.

Noam Dovrat, who did not score a field goal in the first half, scored four times in a row from the penalty spot and reduced it to 40:35.

Raz Adam locked the half with two points and set up

37:48.

Hapoel Tel Aviv opened the third quarter with a storm, and two baskets by Jacoben Brown set the evening's record advantage - 37:56. The Oranges again tried to shrink and reduced to 12 points, but a three by Brown raised the host to 48:63. James Young scored a three-pointer and squeezed a foul, but missed the free throw and the scoreboard showed 50:70. Bar Timor penetrated the color just before the buzzer and set

54:74 at the end of the quarter.

The Reds continued to walk and provided a threesome display in the fourth quarter. Gil Benny (twice), Jonathan Schuldbrand and Brown shot from outside the arc and set 65:92. Schuldbrand contributed more points, and towards the end the youngsters Ofek Gol and Gidi Schiffer also joined the celebration. At the end of the game,

Bnei Herzliya - Hapoel Haifa 81:90

Oren Aharoni's team, which last year barely survived in the league, continued with the great season opener and apart from Hapoel Holon is the only team in the league with a perfect 0: 3 balance. The host led most of the game, and in the fourth quarter even led by 17 points, but the guest made an impressive comeback and reduced the difference to two points towards the end. Unfortunately, it was too late because Andy Van Wallit's critical three-pointer left her with no chance. Chris Bab was passionate about the winning team with 31 points, while James Thompson contributed 16 with the loser.

Gregory Vargas started well for the visitors and scored the first four points of his team, but Chris Bab responded great and scored seven quick points that set 6: 9 for Herzliya. Kadim Allen sniped off the arc and set up an 11-point tie, and towards the end of the quarter the host took the lead on the way

to 22:25 after ten minutes.

The host opened the second quarter with a storm, when Sandy Cohen raised his team to 22:30, the biggest advantage up to this point. Scotty James shrank to 30:26, but Cohen responded with a third in a row and an assist to Marcus Kennedy who set up 29:35. Andy Van Wallit and Cohen set up a double-digit lead for the first time in the game, the visitors managed to shrink towards the half but three free throws by Quinton Hooker set up a

40:49 lead at the break.

James Thompson started the great third quarter for the Reds and shrank to 51:47. Oren Aharoni's team then opened burners once again, mainly thanks to the hot Chris Bab who after a penalty

kick

set

55:70 after 30 minutes.

Shamkaros Kennedy set a 17-point lead, but the Haifa team ran 2: 9 and set up 74:66.

Andy Van and Lit scored a hat-trick, but the Reds did not give up and reduced to 79:74.

James Thompson narrowed the gap to two points with two minutes left, but a devious three by Andy Van Wallit 23 seconds to go set up a five-point lead, and from there the visitors failed to come back.

81:90 to Bnei Herzliya at the end.
