The Syrian Olympic football team opened its qualifying campaign for the Asian Nations finals by defeating Sri Lanka 5-0 in the match that brought them together today in the Qatari capital, Doha, for the first group, which also includes Qatar and Yemen.
The first minute announced the progress of our team through Mohamed Malta, and the second goal came through Ali Bashmani in the 25th minute, and Mohammed Al-Hallaq scored the third goal in the 42nd minute, and in the 68th minute, the Sri Lanka national team scored an own goal before Bashmani scored the fifth goal in the 85th minute.
Our team will meet its Yemeni counterpart next Thursday before concluding its group stage matches against Qatar next Sunday, knowing that the top places in the 11 groups qualify for the qualifiers, in addition to the best 4 teams occupying second place.
