In tonight's big fight between two of the league's hottest guards, Ja Morant and the Grizzlies defeated Steph Kerry and the Warriors, who suffered their first loss of the season. Steph may have won the individual battle, scoring 36 points (11 from 29 from the field, 7 from 20 from three) and adding 8 assists and 7 rebounds, but Morant was the one who came out with the win, scoring 30 points (11 from 22 from the field), Adds 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and more importantly - scores the last points of the game (57 second to overtime) and seals the result in overtime, which ended in only 3: 6 for the Grizzlies. Desmond Bain scored 19 for Memphis, Andrew Wiggins added 16 points for the Warriors.
The game took place five months after Matzipis defeated Golden State 112: 117 in the playoffs and advanced to the playoffs, but the Warriors failed to get the revenge.
Kerry did finish with impressive numbers, but missed two crucial three-pointers tonight: in a 98:98 situation he missed a three right at the end of legal time and the game went into overtime, and in the overtime itself missed an important three 1:18 minutes to go, coming down defeated and disappointed.
