The game report of the DeichStube *.

Bremen - If you look at it positively,

Werder Bremen

stopped

FC St. Pauli's

winning streak on Saturday

. If you look at it negatively, then the Bundesliga relegated has not won again. With 1: 1 (0: 0), the team of coach Markus Anfang separated from the leaders of the 2nd division.

Marvin Ducksch

(62nd) for Bremen's lead and Finn Ole Becker (67th) made for the goals in a game that increased over the minutes to a very good, exciting match in the end.

The starting XI that had put together at the beginning was also exciting.

Not only did he put defender Lars Lukas Mai on the bench, he brought in Anthony Jung.

No, the coach bet on a storm with Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug for the first time in the starting eleven.

While this measure was not unexpected, the beginning surprised with a goalkeeper change.

Michael Zetterer had to take a seat on the bench, Jiri Pavlenka, the regular from previous years, made his season debut.

Initially an explanation: "We have the feeling that Pavlenka can give the team something with his routine and experience, with his calmness."

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli: Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug indicate good teamwork

Against the front runner from Hamburg, who with 27 goals after eleven match days was the strongest offensive in the

2nd division

, Pavlenka initially did not move into the spotlight at all. In front of 42,100 spectators in the Wohninvest Weserstadion, which has been sold out for the first time since February 2020, a game developed in which

Werder Bremen

let the opponent the ball more often in order to be able to counter even long balls. So the Bremen came to free kicks, which in turn brought good chances. Füllkrug missed the goal with a lifter after Ducksch presented it (8th), Nicolai Rapp just wiped past a Ducksch free kick (11th). After 24 minutes the ball was in the goal, but Marco Friedl had used his right hand during his dive - clear case: no goal and a yellow card for Friedl.

The only shocking moment on the other side was after a standard situation at

FC St. Pauli

.

Defender James Lawrence headed over it free-standing (30th).

Otherwise, the hosts, who switched between a 3-5-2 and a 4-4-2 depending on the game situation, initially did not allow opposing chances.

In terms of efficiency, however, the offensive did not show any improvement.

Füllkrug and Ducksch showed that they can move a lot through physical force, but also through good teamwork, but the actions were not mandatory.

There was also a clear shortcoming: Romano Schmid made the wrong decisions too often on the left, got stuck or played balls into nowhere.

Werder Bremen versus FC St. Pauli: Marvin Ducksch takes the lead, but it doesn't last long

On the other hand, Felix Agu was more effective with his advances, preparing

SV Werder Bremen's

second top chance after winning a running duel

.

However, Ducksch thrashed his filing over it (45th), which is why this conclusion remained after half time: Intensive game, but no goal - and the game was still a long way from the hoped-for spectacle.

After the break, St. Pauli came out of the cabin with the recognizable will to want to change something.

The league leader brought storm giant Simon Makienok (2.01 meters tall) and now really accelerated.

Werder Bremen

got into trouble, was lucky that Makienok (52nd) and two striker Guido Burgstaller (54th / 60th) were still bothered.

And then: surprise attack by the storm duo Füllkrug / Ducksch against the far advanced St. Paulians. From the center line, Füllkrug played the ball into the run of his colleague, who passed St. Pauli keeper Nikola Vasilj and pushed it into the empty goal (62nd). 1: 0

Marvin Ducksch

- the Weserstadion was raging, but it wasn't raging for long. Because just five minutes later, Hamburg's last five victories in a row answered. Finn Ole Becker hit flat from the edge of the penalty area after Werder had actually cleared the scene, but the ball was lost again via Niclas Füllkrug. Pavlenka stretched in vain on graduation. That

Werder Bremen

Once again unable to hold a lead, from which the lead could not draw sovereignty, but became inexplicably nervous, is a topic that urgently needs to be addressed.

Werder Bremen: Late St. Pauli goal is revoked after VAR use

After all: There was still something going forward: Ducksch threw himself into an Agu flank, but headed past (75th).

On the other side, Marco Friedl saved from Makienok (79th) in dire need.

The penultimate excitement was caused by St. Paulis Burgstaller, who knocked substitute Mitchell Weiser down with his elbow. That could have been red, even yellow for the pre-stressed Austrian. But referee Felix Zwayer left both cards in (86th). Presumably the referee would have waved through a goal from Makienok in stoppage time. The

FC St. Pauli

cheered on, but the video clearly showed Check: handball. Final luck for

SV Werder Bremen

, who can only consider the 1-1, the third winless game in a row, as a step forward to a limited extent. Ducksch / Füllkrug, that fit on the offensive. Defensively, there is still a lack of stabilizer, one that will organize things when the pressure increases. (csa)

Final whistle.

Werder Bremen and FC St. Pauli split 1: 1 according to their performance.

After a strong first half in Bremen, Marvin Ducksch took the lead in the 62nd minute.

The hit caused a serious jolt through the Paulians' team, who were able to equalize five minutes later.

In the end, the league leaders were closer to victory than SVW, who were lucky in stoppage time that Makienok's goal was withdrawn.

On Friday, Werder will face the next top team in the league with 1. FC Nürnberg.

90th Min + 5:

Werder again with two corners.

But Vasilj is there without any problems after Gruev's header stroke.

The stoppage time has expired.

90.Min

+ 5:

Dinkci comes for the battered jug.

90.Min + 3:

luck in misfortune.

Is there anything else going on on the other side?

90.Min + 2: The frustration was already great!

Makienok shoots young and the ball unfortunately passes the Bremen goal line.

But the Dane had previously touched the ball with his hand.

No goal.

The VAR intervened after a few Werderans protested.

90.Min + 2:

Füllkrug has not played 90 minutes for a long time and is plagued by cramps.

90th min + 1:

There will be four minutes of stoppage time.

Can another team ensure the decisive goal?

90.Min:

Another free kick from Ducksch from the half field.

Friedl missed.

88.Min:

Burgstaller goes down.

Matanovic comes

88.Min:

Now Schönfelder also sees yellow because he pulls through against Zander.

Already the seventh yellow card in the game.

86.Min:

Burgstaller stretches Weiser down with his arm.

That looks like a foul, which is worthy of a yellow card again.

Zwayer leaves it at bad words.

You can see it differently.

84th Min:

Schönfelder and Groß come for Rapp and Schmid.

Neither of them played their best game today.

83.Min:

Burgstaller sees yellow after a foul on Weiser.

82nd min:

After all, an alternating song between the two fan blocks, which is "slightly" negative against the other rival from Hamburg, could please a few Werder fans.

The game is currently doing less.

81.Min:

That is no longer enough what Werder is doing here.

Kyereh has the 2: 1 from Pauli's point of view again on the foot after a half-field cross.

Luck for Werder!

80.Min:

Kyereh is through and is looking for Makienok in the middle.

Marco Friedl hits the ball and clears the corner, which remains harmless.

That was important from Friedl!

79.Min:

Romano Schmid has not had many successful actions in this game.

Nevertheless, even in the 80th minute, it doesn't seem as if Eren Dinkci or Niklas Schmidt are getting ready as alternatives.

77th Min:

Beginning also changes for the first time.

The strong Agu surprisingly has finished work.

Weiser comes for him.

76.Min:

St. Pauli changes twice.

Ziereis and Benatelli for Lawrence and Aremu.

75th Min:

Great assertiveness from Mbom on the outside.

Agu then crosses into the middle, where Ducksch heads over the gate.

Pity!

73rd Min:

Aremu needs treatment, but can apparently go on for now.

71.Min:

That's it with the Bremen leadership.

And now Pauli has the upper hand and wants more.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: St. Pauli with the answer by Finn Ole Becker

67.Min:

filling jug loses the ball in the forward movement.

He stays where he is, the people of Bremen sometimes wait for the whistle and shift too late in their heads.

The young Becker grabs the ball and stretches from 20 meters.

Pavlenka sees the ball late and is overcome in the short corner by the precise shot.

The keeper is not to blame.

67th Min: The Paulians meet to equalize.

The new score is 1: 1

67th Min:

Jackson Irvine comes into play for Hartel.

A little more offensive power for the guests.

65.Min:

Almost the counterstrike on the other side!

Burgstaller is relatively free to shoot after a free kick.

Normally, he can't take that away.

But today the shot goes next to the goal.

63.Min

:

The goal was briefly checked by the VAR for being offside.

But at the crucial moment, Ducksch was not on the sidelines.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: Marvin Ducksch takes the lead

62nd Min:

Super pass from Füllkrug into the interface on the Ducksch, who is about to take off.

He can not take the situation and turns around the storming Nikola Vasilj.

The Weser Stadium trembles because Ducksch only has to push in from a few meters.

The defenders hurrying back are too late and Werder leads 1-0!

Clean guys!

62.Min: Goal for Werder Bremen!

Marvin Ducksch meets the much-anticipated leadership!

60.Min:

Again, it's the hamburgers who set an offensive accent.

Veljkovic strikes hard in the shot!

59.Min:

This Simon Makienok, 2.01 meters tall, brings so much unrest to the Bremen back team that Markus Anfang should deal with defensive ideas that should stop the Dane.

57.Min:

Werder now has to pay attention.

The match plan of the guests seems to have been to take the whole thing calmly and then strike after the break.

Werder are now often a step too late.

54th Min:

Take a deep breath Werder fans.

The big Makienok brings real danger in here.

His cross pass in front of the goal can almost be used by Burgstaller.

The goal getter is still decisively disturbed by Agu.

Pauli is getting stronger now.

53rd Min:

Just like Ducksch, Nicolai Rapp now sees the fourth yellow card of the season.

He had held an opponent.

52nd min:

Luca Zander, next to coach Schultz, the second man with Werder past comes to the front after Makienok pass to the end.

Pavlenka doesn't have to intervene.

50.Min

:

Two unnecessary yellow cards because of complaints on the Bremen side.

Both Ducksch and assistant coach Junge see the avoidable warnings.

Again it was about controversial offside positions, which from Bremen's point of view were whistled too early.

49. Min:

Marvin Ducksch calls the linesman a loud "Wait a

minute

, you!" After he has already prevented him from taking the third action because of an alleged offside position.

Looked justified every time.

48th Min:

Werder wakes up from the break.

Schmid's flank in the direction of Füllkrug is whistled away for being offside.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: The second half has kicked off

46th Min:

Let's go on.

For the time being, Markus Anfang has decided not to make any personnel changes.

Timo Schultz surrendered takes Dittgen out and brings Makienok, the two-meter-tall man.

For the first time in more than a year and a half, Bremen are playing on a full east curve.

Half time in the Weserstadion.

The score does not reflect the attractiveness of the game.

Werder are usually attentive defensively and regularly put pinpricks in the front.

Top-class members from Füllkrug and Ducksch have not yet taken the lead.

A scream from the sold-out Weserstadion suddenly fell silent after Friedl clearly placed the ball in the opposing goal with his hand.

This first half makes you want more!

45.Min + 1:

Seconds before the break whistle, the Bremen almost still get the opening goal.

Agu asserts himself great on the right and fits into the back space on Ducksch, who pulls off directly.

Again, the Pauli goalkeeper does not have to intervene because the ball flies just over the housing.

45th min:

Schmid has space again, but gets lost.

The young Austrian looks unhappy.

43.Min:

A promising counterattack opportunity for Bremer is interrupted by Romano Schmid's bad pass.

There was more to it.

40.Min:

Now St. Pauli is also awarded the first corner.

However, this does not cause any danger.

38.Min

:

Werder combine themselves to the front via Agu and Mbom, which is worth seeing.

In the end, Füllkrug unfortunately fails again because of the size of the goal.

Vasilj has hardly had to intervene so far.

37th Min:

The statistical values suggest almost all for St. Pauli.

One-on-one fights, possession of the ball and passing rate speak for the guests.

But Werder can book the clearer chances for themselves.

However, this does not currently change anything in terms of the score.

31.Min:

Nice one-two from Ducksch and Füllkrug in front of the Hamburg penalty area.

Füllkrug is then shot, but fails by itself. The west stand is happy about the ball.

29.Min

:

Jung rises on Dittgen's instep.

Free kick Pauli from the right.

In the middle, James Lawrence heads pretty unhindered over the transom.

28.Min:

This previous performance is still encouraging.

Werder so far with good switching game and stable defensive performance.

The last bit is still missing at the front.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: Marco Friedl with his hand in the goal

24.Min:

The Weserstadion is cheering, the ball is in the goal, but the disillusionment comes quickly.

After the fourth Werder corner, Friedl goes to the ball with his hand and steers it past Vasilj into the net.

Zwayer recognizes the situation and does not give the goal because of the handball.

Because of the recognized intention, Friedl also sees yellow to make matters worse.

23.Min:

Again corner, again Werder.

This time Veljovic comes to the ball, but cannot bring any pressure behind it at the height of the penalty spot.

22.Min:

Second corner of Bremen.

Ducksch is looking for the tall Veljkovic and Rapp.

Miss both.

19.Min:

Bremen came into play well.

St. Pauli looks surprised by the start of the game in Bremen.

What's missing is the gate!

St. Pauli has not yet come into its own in the offensive.

14.Min:

Medic sees yellow because of complaining after Werder is awarded a free kick that Medic was not even responsible for.

Ducksch lays the ball 25 meters centrally in front of the goal but fails unspectacularly in the wall.

11.Min:

Second great chance for Bremen.

Butter soft comes free-kick flank in the direction of Rapp, who just missed.

The next corner does not bring anything.

Still a good start for the home side.

10.Min:

Hartel trips Agu at the corner of the penalty area.

Ducksch lays the ball ready.

9.Min:

Werder has the 1-0 on the foot!

Storm partner Ducksch fits on the starting filling mug, which wants to put the ball over the keeper.

Just over!

8.Min

:

Lawrence lets Mbom jump over the blade and is lucky that he doesn't receive a yellow card.

6. Min:

The first shot on goal of the game belongs to St. Pauli.

After a bit of bustle in the penalty area, the ball lands at Becker, who, however, clearly warps.

4. Min:

"Stand up if you are from Bremen!", It echoes through the rows.

Strong!

3. Min:

Rapp and Medic hit each other with their heads, but both stand again relatively quickly.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: Surprises in the Werder line-up - kick-off in the full Weserstadion

1.Min:

Let's go!

Werder as usual in green and white, St. Pauli in brown.

Today the captain is Niclas Füllkrug on a temporary basis.

1:28 p.m.:

FIFA referee Felix Zwayer is the referee of the game.

1:25 p.m.:

Only about five minutes until kick-off in the Weser Stadium.

Many of the players have never had the pleasure of marching into a fully occupied Weser stadium.

Let's hope that the audience will provide the 12th man for Werder today!

1:20 p.m.:

In the Weserstadion, which is almost sold out, today the leader of the table is again about a direction.

Can you knock a little closer to the top ranks after yesterday's defeats of Schalke and Nuremberg or do you stay in the gray second division mediocrity?

We'll know more in around two hours!

1:14 p.m.:

In the Sky interview, Anfang explains the goalkeeper change with the piece more experience and routine that Jiri Pavlenka brings with him.

You have the luxury of not having a clear number one, but two top keepers.

Zetterer's gaming performance was hardly a factor.

Pavlenka was much more likely to impose himself in training.

Incidentally, the change was just celebrated loudly by the fans.

1:11 p.m.:

Pauli coach Schultz skilfully pushes the role of favorites away.

Maybe also because he knows about the tough game in the DFB Cup during the week, which the guests still have in their legs.

120 minutes against Dresden made it possible to move into the round of 16 on Wednesday.

1:06 p.m.:

The Bremen team and especially the coach Markus Anfang need a

sense of achievement

after only one point from the two games against Darmstadt and Sandhausen.

But it will be difficult!

The opponent from St. Pauli deserves their greetings from the top of the table.

With 25 points you are already ten points ahead of the green-whites.

1:01 p.m.:

The argument from Coach Anfang is also interesting, why there is a change between the posts today.

Michael Zetterer felt that he was not to blame.

Maybe it's about the fresh impetus that Pavlenka brings with him.

12:54 p.m.:

We are

looking

forward to the tactical alignment against Hamburg from Millerntor.

Will Mbom take over the position of Agu, who is moving forward for it?

Will Füllkrug and Ducksch actually play a double role or will Ducksch act a little more defensively?

12:47 p.m.:

After

leaving

Schalke 04, Guido Burgstaller is flourishing again.

In the previous 12 league games, the Austrian has already scored ten times - one goal behind Simon Terodde in the top scorer list.

12:45 p.m.:

To complete the list, we present you with the line-up of FC St. Pauli: Vasilj, Lawrence, Burgstaller, Dittgen, Aremu, Kyereh, Medić, Zander, Becker, Paqarada, Hartel

12:42 p.m.:

The Werder Bank at a glance: Zetterer, Weiser, Park, Mai, Groß, Schmidt, Schönfelder, Assalé, Dinkci

12:37 p.m.:

Markus Anfang also puts Lars Lukas Mai on the bench after his poor performance in the Sandhausen game.

Leo Bittencourt is ill and is not available today.

Mbom and Jung are in the starting line-up for this.

Niklas Schmidt has to give way to filling jug.

Werder Bremen against FC St. Pauli in the live ticker: Surprises in the Werder line-up - Jiri Pavlenka returns to the box

12:32 p.m .:

You couldn't necessarily count on that.

Jiri Pavlenka

returns to the starting

XI

.

Michael Zetterer has to take a seat on the bench.

In addition, the beginning offers the often requested double tip with

filling jug and ducksch

.

12:30 p.m .: Surprises in the Werder-Elf!

Here is today's formation: Pavlenka, Jung, Friedl, Veljkovic, Mbom - Rapp, Schmid, Gruev, Agu - Füllkrug, Ducksch

12.28 p.m.:

Still not 12.30 p.m. ... Now don't be so excited, we want to see the team!

12.25 p.m.:

The kick-off time still takes getting used to, but today the tree in the

Weser Stadium

should really burn for the first time in almost two years.

Because: the hut is full!

12.22 p.m.:

In a few moments, the lineups will flutter in here.

Then the exciting question will be clarified whether coach Markus Anfang can play a double top consisting of Marvin Ducksch and Niclas Füllkrug for the first time against the Kiezkicker.

Perspective in danger: SV Werder Bremen welcomes leaders FC St. Pauli - and threatens to lose touch

SV Werder Bremen will play against league leaders FC St. Pauli on matchday 12 in the second division - and threaten to lose connection in the table.

The preliminary report of the DeichStube *.
