Many people look forward to skiing when autumn starts, but a picture causes great horror even among winter sports fans.

Many people look forward to skiing when autumn starts, but a picture causes great horror even among winter sports fans.

Salzburg - In November you can of course think about skiing and winter sports again.

The snow line is falling continuously and the Corona rules allow more this winter than last year.

But a ski area is now causing outrage.

Many consider the measure from Mittersill in Salzburg to be the wrong signal - especially with regard to climate change and the consequences.

Even the former Austrian skier Nicola Werdenigg doesn't like it at all.

The ORF headlined with a picture of the ski slope with the words: "Ski exotic: The white ribbon".

And it is precisely this white band that Werdenigg criticizes with the words: "Every year the ski resort operators are not aware of the signals they are sending out in relation to the #climate catastrophe"

But what about the ski slope, which was particularly popular on October 30th?

As ORF writes, old snow from last winter was dumped into autumn and now rolled out again.

According to the managers, the process is "ecological", as reported by ORF.

With an insulating film on shady slopes, they would have brought the old snow over the summer well.

The slope is 700 meters long, around 65 meters and up to 80 centimeters thick.

Werdenigg and especially her followers criticize the signal that triggers such an image rather than the actual background of how the snow was brought there.

Among other posts with the same photo it says in the comments: "Des san stupid!" Or "Idiot hill".

This piste has been around for a long time, and in previous years it was used early on.

Above all, however, ski teams are said to have trained there.

Particularly noteworthy: Indian top athletes are said to have traveled to Salzburg specifically to train for the Olympic Games, which will take place in China in 2022.

Is there no closer training opportunity?

Winter sports enthusiasts from India are happy about the training opportunity

The Indian trainer is an Austrian.

Werner Margreiter was once the head coach of the ÖSV.

According to the ORF, he said: “India has a population of one and a half billion and winter sports are very little developed.

There is absolutely great potential there for the middle class for the coming decades - also as guests for Austria. ”And the Indians were even guests in 2017.

In mid-October 2019, the ORF headlined: “Again the vortex around the early start of the season”.

It wouldn't be a big surprise if the piste were to be the topic again in 2022.

The slope for the Olympic Games in China has already been criticized.

A FIS officer called it “steep and very demanding”.

You have to wait until February to see how well the Indians perform on it.
