- -The FCL would have loved to reminisce about the past year, but Corona had canceled all the celebrations for the club's 100th birthday.

So numerous members were honored at the annual general meeting (report to follow).

But otherwise, the mood was great - even if the pandemic did not go very well.

It was taken calmly.

"We only had three friendship tournaments that fall under the category 'Have always tried hard'", reported Manfred Eicher about the stick shooters.

Tennis boss Klaus Eicher particularly praised the commitment of the all-rounders Max Wachinger and Mohamed Samimi.

The 70plus tennis player in particular impresses him.

"I would love to have him freeze a liter of blood," said Klaus Eicher.

The only department that was not affected by Corona was the sport fishermen, said their boss Peter Heigl, who also emphasized: "Mia dean not just bathe Würm." Rather, the 30 members also created a flower meadow.

FCL Chairman Sepp Kaiser was also able to report on generally healthy growth.

The club now has 860 members (25 more than in the previous year), 240 of them are younger than 18 years.

Kaiser sometimes takes care of the little ones himself in the ball school, as the youth leader Ferdinand Mehringer said.

“Is Sepp here today?” Asked a little boy.

“If not, then I could wear my Bayern shirt today.” Kaiser, the lion fan, said mischievously: “We are tolerant.

Maxi Maier, sporting director and most successful goalscorer of the FCL men, revealed that when player-coach Maxi Hintermaier was signed, a bulldog for the son and a huge bouquet for the woman also played a role. The financial figures have also been in special dimensions since the construction of the new clubhouse. According to treasurer Richard Graf, spending in 2020 was around 842,000 euros. In terms of income, he posted around 930,300 euros (before the depreciation of the new clubhouse). The cash balance at the end of 2020 was minus 730,000 euros. However, thanks to the projects at the sports facility, this is offset by club assets of around 3 million euros. Hans Lex read out the report of the auditors Florian Froidevaux and Robert Huber (“No complaints”), after which the actions of the board were unanimously approved.

BLSV district chairman Martin Weber was impressed that over 100 members attended the meeting. He was pleased that the association had gained more members. The problem in the district is that the clubs have lost more of their instructors. That is why he wants to bring a decentralized trainer course to Erding again. He had a silver plaque of merit from the BLSV, which he presented to the FCL chairman Kaiser.

"If you are knocked out, you hang on medals," joked Erding's mayor Max Gotz afterwards.

He praised the “Geislingen feeling of togetherness”, but also made it clear that the city would face tough times, because in the future there would be a shortage of 15 to 18 million euros in business taxes every year.

He is therefore happy that the sports facilities have already been upgraded to the highest level in recent years.

Gotz looked ahead to the year 2025, when the air base areas will be handed over to civilian use: "Langengeisling will play a decisive role in preventing the new district from becoming Neuperlach." Kaiser immediately picked up the ball.
