Interim trainer Peter Beierkuhnlein sees his team on the right track, but knows that after the 1-0 victory against Wasserburg on Friday evening, there are still more steps to be taken.

“It was actually a draw,” Beierkuhnlein admitted after the first home win of the season.

"However, we had more chances and also played the nicer football." Above all, the coach noted that in this case, "you have earned that little bit of luck, only the capable one has".

Of course, he noticed the unnecessary errors caused by the constant pressure - and here he pursues the approach “that we have to get through our pass relay better”.

Regardless of this, it was clear that this cold Friday evening was not about beauty prizes, but about three shiny golden points.

Peter Beierkuhnlein also saw, of course, that his team had to suffer against the Wasserburger who took all risks. "But I have respect for the morale of my team." You got through the game against TSV, but now you have to take the next step in order to push your own game through more strongly in such phases.

"The development is right," emphasizes defender Beierkuhnlein and also refers to the mini run with two zero successes.

With 51 goals conceded, VfB Hallbergmoos is statistically still the league's shooting gallery, but the coach wants the latest trend to continue.

Because: "If we have no goals conceded in the last three games until the winter break, we will have another three points for sure," he calculates.

The tough tasks with two away games at TSV 1865 Dachau and TSV Kottern as well as the home game against leaders SpVgg Hankofen-Hailing don't really scare him.

The new competitiveness has brought back self-confidence at VfB.

And that was clearly noticeable when the home team celebrated the felt rebirth singing on the pitch.
