National coach Hansi Flick reacted to the corona case and injury concerns in the German national soccer team and nominated a trio. Wolfsburg-based Maximilian Arnold and Ridle Baku as well as Kevin Volland (AS Monaco) are now in the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein on Thursday (8.45 p.m., live ticker SPIEGEL.de; TV: RTL) in Wolfsburg and three days later in Armenia. Flick had previously brought in Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen.

In addition, the German Football Association (DFB) announced that Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen (muscular problems in the hip flexor) and Nico Schlotterbeck from Freiburg (muscular problems in the left thigh) will be injured.

Wirtz couldn't play for Bayer in the Bundesliga last weekend, Schlotterbeck has to wait for his national team debut.

The DFB announced a positive corona test for a player on Tuesday morning.

According to information from the "Bild" newspaper and the sports information service (SID), it is Niklas Süle.

Four other players also have to be quarantined because they are considered contact persons 1.

At 1 p.m., DFB manager Oliver Bierhoff and team doctor Tim Meyer appear in front of the press.
