Niklas Süle * tested positive for the corona virus on Tuesday morning.
In addition to the defender, his club colleagues Joshua Kimmich *, Serge Gnabry * and Jamal Musiala * had to return to Munich separately and go into quarantine, the same applies to Karim Adeyemi from Salzburg.
Despite a negative test, the players were classified as Category 1 contact persons in the context of contact tracing and were therefore placed in quarantine by the Munich Land Health Department.

In the worst case, FC Bayern is now threatened with the loss of four important players for the next Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg on Friday after next (November 19th). If the trio around Kimmich, Gnabry and Musiala remain symptom-free, free testing would be possible after seven days, according to the health department. On the other hand, it has already been seen in the Nagelsmann case that free testing does not bring the desired result straight away. The trainer was only able to show a negative test after almost two weeks. To make matters worse, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also has to be quarantined, the Cameroonian had contact with Süle.
"The length of the quarantine depends on the local health department and the tests," explained DFB * doctor Dr.
Tim Meyer at the press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
He could not say whether the national players who had left their clubs would be out for the first time.
He repeatedly pointed out that in the Süle case, the Munich Land health department was responsible.
To put it into perspective: The central defender lives in Grünwald, a few kilometers south of the city limits of the Bavarian capital.

The four named players, who have to be in quarantine, set off together with Süle on the plane from Munich to the DFB quarter. In the plane, however, there were four other players, according to Sky information, it should be the already vaccinated Manuel Neuer * and Leroy Sané. Thomas Müller and Leon Goretzka have therefore traveled separately.
Team doctor Meyer was unable to fully clarify why Neuer and Sané, in contrast to their colleagues, are allowed to remain in the circle of the national team and referred to the responsible health department. “Four other players were quarantined on the basis of the analysis. Four more players will be tested further in the coming days. The health department of the place of residence had the baton in hand, in this case Munich Land, ”said Meyer. The four players are allowed to stay, but have to sit separately when eating, for example, and are driven specially for training.
A little over two weeks ago, Kimmich publicly stated that he was not vaccinated.
The DFB did not want to provide any information about the vaccination status of the other national players.
From the ranks of politics, the vaccination pressure is now increasing on Kimmich.
