The Israeli national football team started last night (Monday) in Klagenfurt its last gathering in the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with the aim of defeating Austria this Friday and the Faroe Islands next Monday, finishing with 19 points at home and hoping for a miracle that will bounce it to second place at the expense of Scotland.
The team's players depend, after the loss in Glasgow last month, on the result between Scotland and Moldova on Friday, but to leave them a theoretical chance for runners-up at home, the team must do what it has not done for a long time: beat a quality Israeli rival and beyond like Austria.

Coach Willy Rotensteiner apparently believes in miracles and has already laid out his belief to the players: "We have to win in Austria and believe that Scotland will not win in Moldova," Rotensteiner told his players yesterday at the first meeting.
"If Scotland do not win in Moldova and we do not beat Austria, we will be very sorry for this opportunity we missed."
Rotensteiner is expected to play all week on the strings of this theoretical chance that holds the entire trip this week to Klagenfurt, the city where the game will take place, at the same stadium where Maccabi Tel Aviv held its game against Lusk Linz as part of the Conference League last month.
