The Syrian women's basketball team lost 63-83 points to its Lebanese counterpart in the match that brought them together today in the Asian Basketball Championship (level two) hosted by the Jordanian capital Amman.
Our team was late in the first three quarters of the match by 17-21 points, 12-28 points and 15-17 points, before advancing in the fourth quarter with a score of 19-17, ending the match with the victory of the Lebanese team with a score of 83-63 points.
With this result, our team came second in the first group behind the Lebanese team, winning and losing, as it beat its Iranian counterpart yesterday, 78-71 points.
The teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups, each comprising three teams, where the teams of Jordan, Indonesia and Kazakhstan compete in the second. With the third from the second group and the second in the second with the third in the first, the winners of these two matches qualify for the semi-finals.
The team that gets first place at the end of the tournament will move from the second level to the first level, which includes the most advanced teams.
