The Syrian youth football team defeated its Lebanese counterpart 1-0 in a friendly match that brought them together today in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, in preparation for participating in the West Asian Championship, which will be hosted by Iraq this month.
Our team scored its goal in the 76th minute by Ammar Alama.
The lineup of our team in the match included Muhammad Hassouni, Ammar Alama, Hudhayfa Khalouf, Qais Al-Hassan, Miqdad Ahmed, Elias Safar, Malik Janair, Mahmoud Al-Aswad, Hozan Othman, Hassan Dahan and Muhannad Fadel.
The draw for the West Asian Youth Football Championship, which was drawn today in the Jordanian capital, Amman, placed the Syrian team in the second group along with the teams of Jordan, the UAE and Lebanon.
The tournament will start on the 23rd of this month in Iraq, with the participation of nine teams divided into two groups. The first group includes the teams of Iraq, Bahrain, Yemen, Palestine and Kuwait.
According to the tournament system, the matches of the two groups are held in the league system from one stage, and the champion of each group qualifies for the final match, and the winner is crowned with the championship title.
