Alldritt: "The competition in the France team makes me feel good"

2021-11-10T15:43:49.518Z

Substitute against Argentina, the powerful number 8 from La Rochelle, essential since the arrival of Fabien Galthié, should regain a starting place Sunday against Georgia.

What lessons did you learn from the victory against the Pumas?

Grégory Alldritt:

We will especially retain the victory.

And the fact that we advance weekend after weekend.

Georgia, as we know, like Argentina the sector of combativeness, rucks, conquest ... We must continue to work on this.

To be more demanding of ourselves.

And raise the cursor from this weekend.

You were a substitute against the Pumas. How did you approach this match?

There are some very good third lines in the group. There is good emulation. It's a very healthy competition, it's something that makes me feel good. It is a challenge. For years, we complained that players were installed and that it was not necessarily the players in shape at the time who were playing. There, we feel this emulation, it is the players in shape who play. I took it as a challenge, I love it, it can only do me good and help me progress.

Did you take a hit in the back of the head when you found out you were a substitute?

No, we don't take a hit in the back of the head.

When you see the players who have played, they are very good players.

It puts extra motivation.

With each training, we try to go further.

To always do more and to surpass ourselves.

This is the definition of competition.

Honestly, I take it very well.

As I am a very big competitor, I love challenges.

The players who enter during the match have a very important role.

Even capital.

It was interesting but also a very complicated mission

Gregory Alldritt

The staff had focused on the end of the match.

You were expected in this role of finisher ...

Fabien (Galthié), since the start of his mandate, has always placed great importance on finishers.

It was even he who changed the term.

It is true that the players who enter during the match have a very important role.

Even capital.

It was interesting but also a very complicated mission.

You were one of the leaders at the end of the game ...

Yes I try to bring the maximum to the team.

Be exemplary and give myself to the maximum.

(...) Like any finisher who enters, the goal is to make an impact.

I also tried not to make silly mistakes, even though I did ... (smile)

France had problems in the rucks against the Argentines.

Did you come back to it?

It is an alert even if we know that Argentina is one of the best nations in this sector.

They are very dangerous, very difficult to play.

We knew it.

But technically we may not have done things the way we wanted.

We can do better.

It gave us a little booster shot.

Do you have the feeling that Fabien Galthié's management has changed recently?

Not especially.

There was a great tour of Australia.

I wasn't there, but on TV you could tell there was something special going on.

There is a pool of players.

We are 42 and we do not only win at 23. Everything we do during the week is very important.

Personally, the more I play, the better I feel.

I hope it will continue.

I'm working hard, on and off the pitch, to get back to my best

Gregory Alldritt

Did you have a hard time digesting last season which was very long and which ended in two defeats in the final?

Yes, the season has been very long.

Of course there were quite a few disappointments.

I think like my team, we struggled a bit at the start.

But, little by little, we find the right path and we try to raise our heads.

Me personally, the more I play, the better I feel.

I hope it will continue.

I'm working hard, on and off the pitch, to get back to my best.

I feel that I am progressing.

Did you finish the season at your wit's end?

Yes ... (Laughs) I was physically and mentally exhausted after this last defeat (in the Top 14 final against Toulouse). We were lucky to be able to cut for a long time, we had six weeks. But we only had three weeks of preparation, it took a little longer to restart the machine. But we feel better and better.

You have known two captains in blue with Charles Ollivon and Antoine Dupont.

What are they different or similar to?

There are no differences.

They are two different players.

When "Toto" took over the captaincy, what was easy was that Charles had done great things.

For me Charles was one of the best captains I have ever played with.

The way was clear for "Toto".

He is well accompanied.

But it would be silly to look for differences between the two or try to compare them.
