The middle season of the Red Devils and the Blues suffered a serious setback during a banal shooting exercise in the training of the France team, in Clairefontaine on Monday evening.

Paul Pogba, 28, injured his right thigh while attempting a recovery on a discount from Didier Deschamps, his coach.

His package for the two qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup against Kazakhstan on Saturday, then Finland on Tuesday, was recorded a few hours later, on Monday evening.

Tuesday evening, the Mancunien gave some news on his social networks.

"Hi everyone, as you can see, I got injured and I hope it's not too bad," he said on his Instagram account.

I'll probably have a scan over the next few days to see how bad it is.

We are there but we will come back stronger.

I know it.

Let's not lose the faith, let's not lose the positive "vibes".

We keep smiling.

Everything happens for a reason.

We will come back.

Thanks for your support.

I will be back soon.

Regarding the duration of the international unavailability, the first diagnoses show an absence estimated at around six weeks. The 2018 world champion could resume in the last week of the year, during the busy holiday season in England. Before injuring himself, Pogba was going through a complicated period with Manchester United and relied on the rally with the Blues to oxygenate himself.

Before joining Clairefontaine, he was serving three suspension games after a red card received against Liverpool in the Premier League.

He was also at the heart of criticism from many consultants in the British media, such as former Manchester United player Paul Scholes.

The latter had castigated the immaturity of the midfielder after the draw between Manchester United and Atalanta Bergamo (2-2) in the Champions League.

Perhaps the phrase “Everything happens for a reason” underscores a possible parallel between the various opposing elements of the past few weeks and the injury at the start of the week.
