Hamraoui case: prolonged custody for Diallo

2021-11-11T10:02:11.209Z

After the assault last week of Kheira Hamraoui, a French international victim of a violent ambush, a troubled affair in which her teammate Aminata Diallo was arrested on Wednesday and whose custody was extended by 24 hours.

Initiated Wednesday morning, Diallo's police custody was extended by 24 hours at the end of the afternoon, Versailles prosecutor Maryvonne Caillibotte told AFP.

The player could thus remain in the premises of the judicial police of Versailles until Friday morning.

On the field, sportingly, Hamraoui and Diallo are competing for a position in the midfielder of Paris SG, but also within the French women's team.

But it is for a news item outside the field that their names come out today. Last Thursday, the two players returned together from a dinner, with Diallo at the wheel. The vehicle was stopped and Hamraoui got out of the car to be "beaten up on the legs with an iron bar" by two men who then fled, details the prosecutor of Versailles, taking up Hamraoui's story. The player will be taken to the hospital where she undergoes stitches.

Diallo, she would have been retained by the attackers, but not victim of physical violence herself, specified to AFP a source within the club.

The case, known to all the players of the club, did not prevent PSG from brilliantly passing its first European test of the season, Tuesday evening against Real Madrid (4-0) in the Champions League ahead of more of 16,000 supporters at the Parc des Princes.

Police custody in Lyon

Hamraoui, officially unavailable for "personal reasons", had left his place on the field that evening to Diallo, his usual club double, who played the game almost in full. On Wednesday morning, the latter (26 years old) was arrested in Marly-le-Roi (Yvelines) and placed in police custody by the brigade of repression of the banditry of the judicial police of Versailles, seized by the prosecution of Versailles. In Lyon, a man "who could have a link with the aggression", but not related to Diallo, was also placed in police custody by the judicial police, added Ms. Caillibotte, the prosecutor of Versailles.

The investigation, triggered by Hamraoui's complaint filed Friday morning, was opened for willful violence with a total interruption of work (ITT) of less than eight days, in a meeting, with a weapon (the iron bar) and with premeditation.

Aminata Diallo, who spoke while in police custody, did not call a lawyer, added the prosecutor.

This unexpected development made the club react, which until now considered Diallo one of the victims of the aggression.

The PSG expressed itself via a press release in which it indicated to take "note of the custody" of the midfielder, while condemning "with the greatest firmness the violence committed" last week.

Returning this summer to Paris, after a first visit to the capital (2012-2016), Hamraoui has established herself as a holder at the age of 31 among the reigning French champions.

Long snubbed by coach Corinne Deacon, she was recalled to the France team in October, after two and a half years of absence.

But she couldn't honor the summons due to an injury.

Corinne Deacon had then called back in reinforcement ... Diallo, whose seventh and last selection dates back to April 2018. The Parisian, loaned in recent months to Royals Utah (United States) and Atlético Madrid (Spain), n ' has not, however, had the slightest minute of play. The track of an internal rivalry at PSG, put forward by a source with L'Équipe, revived the memory of the Harding-Kerrigan affair which had shaken the world of figure skating before the 1994 Winter Olympics.
