Because the regular goalkeeper of the German national ice hockey team had tested positive for Corona, the goalkeeper of the ESC Planegg was nominated by national coach Thomas Schädler for the Olympic qualification that begins today.

The fact that Hemmerle is now taking Harß's place means that the 25-year-old has confirmed her strong performance in the Bundesliga.

"I have complete confidence in our three goalkeepers," says national coach Schädler.
He is convinced that his team will qualify for the Beijing Olympics in 2022.
In Füssen, the Germans will meet Austria today (5.15 p.m.).
Then the games against Italy and Denmark will be on Saturday (12 noon) and Sunday (12 noon).
Christian Künast is also looking forward to the tournament with confidence.

The national players of the ESC Planegg should also provide further vigor. Schadler called a total of eight penguins to the 25-man squad - in addition to Hemmerle and Albl, six field players. Only the ERC Ingolstadt has a larger contingent with nine players.
The ticket to the Olympics should also help Planegg's defenders Rebecca Orendorz, Anna-Maria Reich, Yvonne Rothemund and Tabea Botthof.
The national coach expects the necessary goals from the ESC attackers Julia Zorn, the captain, and Franziska Feldmeier, who are among the best scorers in the Bundesliga.
Zorn scored 18 times in ten games and prepared five more goals.
Feldmeier has six hits and nine assists.
