The Russian national football team defeated its Cypriot guest by a clean six in the ninth round of Group H of the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
The goals of the Russian national team were scored by Alexander Erokhin in the fourth and 87th minutes, Fedor Smolov in the 55th minute, Andrey Mostovoy in the 56th minute, Alexei Suturmin in the 62nd minute and Anton Zabolotny in the 82nd minute, thus boosting the Russian team temporarily to the top of the group with 22 points, five points ahead of Russia. Croatia, while Cyprus is ranked sixth with five points.
