The German champions from Bayern Munich and newcomer TSG Hoffenheim suffered setbacks for their quarter-final hopes in the women's football Champions League.

Munich lost in the top game of Group D at the seven-time title holder Olympique Lyon despite a break lead 1: 2 (1: 0), Hoffenheim received another lesson in Group C with the defending champions from FC Barcelona with a 0: 4 (0: 3).

Munich had taken the lead in France through an own goal by Canadian Kadeisha Buchanan (25th).

Five minutes after the break, the Belgian Janice Cayman equalized for the hosts, before Olympique turned the game completely around four minutes before the end of regular time with Amandine Henry.

Munich missed the leap to the top of the table with the first defeat of the season in the premier class, behind Bayern, BK Häcken from Sweden is already lurking one point behind.

Barcelona made the decision against Hoffenheim before the break.

After the early lead by Jennifer Hermoso (5th), a double from captain Alexia (19th and 33rd) meant the end of all hopes of the Bundesliga third party for a surprise.

In the second round, TSG coach Gabor Gallai's team was largely successful in damage control, but still had to accept the fourth goal from Marta Torrejon (74th).

Due to this second defeat in a row, Hoffenheim is under considerable pressure in the race with Barcelona and the English top team Arsenal FC for the two quarter-finals in third place.

On Tuesday, the VfL Wolfsburg cup winners, as the third Bundesliga club in the European premier class in Group A, had at least kept chasing Juventus at a distance with a 1-1 draw in Turin and thus at least kept the chance of making it into the top eight .
