"Willie was our back. There are a lot of players who would like to give him back."
The Israeli national team players know that tonight's result against Austria (21:45, here 11) will be important in the decision to continue Rotensteiner's path as coach, and many will try to win for him as well.
Now the coach will hope for good news from Scotland to add special value to the game

Players in the Israeli team admit this morning (Friday) that they would have preferred the game between Scotland and Moldova (19:00, Sport1) to be held in parallel with their game tonight against Austria (21:45, here 11).
The team will play tonight in Klagenfurt when they already know what the Scots did against the weak Moldova and if Scotland wins as expected, the Israeli team will not be able to live under the illusion that it has a chance for second place if it defeats the Austrians.
"It would of course have been better if the games were at that time and it's a little surprising that it's not so in the ninth round of this house," one of the team players said this morning.
"Obviously if there is a miracle in Moldova and Scotland does not win, we will get a crazy boost of energy before we get to our game. But if Scotland wins as everyone predicts, we will not be able to fantasize about second place and that will take some of the enthusiasm down."

Still, the team's players draw motivation from somewhere else and he is from their coach Willy Rotensteiner who all week at the Hotel in Klagenfurt talked about the team's duty to finish with two victories tonight in Austria and on Monday in Netanya against the Faroe Islands to prove they have progressed in this campaign.
Rotensteiner does not talk to the players about his personal side and the need to finish with 19 points out of 30 and at least in third place so that he has a good card in case he and Oren Hasson, the chairman of the Football Association, want to continue their relationship for another campaign, but it is clear to all players this evening.
If the Israeli team loses tonight to Austria, it will be very difficult for Rotensteiner to stay and many players who support the coach have another reason to want to win tonight.
"Willie has been the back of a lot of players on the team for the last two years. Whoever wants him to stay, will surely want to give a lot tonight for him as well," testified this morning a player on the team who feels the pulse of the players in recent days in Klagenfurt.

Rotensteiner will return to the squad Hatem Abdelhamid who did not play against Scotland and Moldova last month and will continue to give credit to Iyad Abu Abid who was a surprise the previous two games when he performed excellently as a stopper on the right.
For Beavers Natcho it will probably be one of the last two games for the team, unless Rotensteiner stays and wants him to continue with him for another campaign.
Eran Zehavi does not need special reasons to want to add more goals to his resume, but after breaking Motla Spiegler's record, the star of the team will want to end this campaign with the goal queens of all European houses and he needs to improve his position against Memphis DePay and others.
Estimated composition: Marciano, Desa, Abu Abid, Bitton, Alhamid, Menachem, Peretz, Natcho, Solomon, Davor, Zehavi.
