Hamilton untouchable

The Briton was on display throughout the weekend. His engine penalty and his disqualification on Friday never disturbed him. On the contrary, it made it stronger. Starting twentieth on Saturday, he finished fifth and on Sunday, starting tenth, he won with authority against Max Verstappen at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Thus surely landing one of his most beautiful victories. Lewis Hamilton, who now has 101 career successes, was nothing short of exceptional in Brazil, far above the competition, and is fourteen points behind his Dutch rival three rounds from the end of the season.

Ferrari puts an option on the third place of the constructors

The Scuderia finishes strong. As in Mexico, Charles Leclerc finished fifth in the race in Brazil, just ahead of Carlos Sainz. A nice group shot which is becoming habitual on the part of the Italian team and which allows it to strengthen its third place in the constructors' standings because McLaren is no longer advancing (see below). Now, with three races to go, Ferrari has a 31.5 point lead over the British team (287.5 against 256) in the constructors' championship.

The French in the top 10

It's not that common and it hadn't happened since the Dutch Grand Prix in early September.

At Interlagos, the French had solid races and as often, Pierre Gasly took the best of his compatriot with a seventh place.

The Alpha Tauri rider narrowly edged Esteban Ocon, after a great battle on the track between the two, and his Alpine.

And the fight remains intense between these two manufacturers who remain tied, in fifth place, with 112 points.

Flops

McLaren in agony

As in Mexico, the British team scored only one point in Brazil thanks to the tenth position of Lando Norris. Quickly forced to retire, Daniel Ricciardo has not yet weighed on the race and with three rounds to go, McLaren is now taken down by Ferrari in the constructors' standings. From Russia, the Scuderia takes the best from the orange single-seaters each time and from now on, McLaren is up to 31.5 points from the Italian cars… A gap that is becoming almost insurmountable. It is a big disappointment for Zak Brown's team, third force at the end of the 2020 season, which is experiencing a very difficult second part of the season, masked by the surprising double signed at Monza.

Red Bull has suffered

This season will never cease to amaze us.

In the United States, Mercedes was the favorites and yet Red Bull and Max Verstappen had won.

In Brazil, on a track cataloged RB, it was Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes who pocketed the bet.

Austrian cars have been struggling throughout the weekend.

They were beaten in qualifying on Friday, also dominated by Valtteri Bottas in the sprint qualifying, before Verstappen lost to Hamilton in the race on Sunday.

With all the penalties inflicted on the seven-time world champion, leaving Brazil with a second place cannot be satisfactory.
