Forstern - After the 1: 6 against the Dorfener Reserve on the tenth match day it was the end for Sascha Böhm as coach of FC Forstern 2. Not only the results were his undoing.

In the end, the gap between the coach and the team was too deep.

The 35-year-old from Munich took it sportily: “It just didn't fit.

Sometimes that's the case in football.

That's why we parted ways by mutual agreement. "

In Neuching, Benjamin Wall was a new trainer and old friend at Forstern's side.

At 2: 2 there was a first respectable win for the team, which had recently presented itself completely listless.

“There were only five people left in training.

They didn't feel like it anymore.

They preferred to go to the gym rather than training, ”says the new coach, who had to end his active career after complications from surgery with his Achilles tendon.

Forstern's press spokesman puts it a little more diplomatically.

"Both sides imagined it differently," says Albert Bowinzki, whom the local newspaper reached while on vacation in Mexico.

At the same time, however, the team received signals early on that they were not feeling well and that they and the coach could not imagine keeping the class.

“Then there were a lot of conversations and the cards were laid openly on the table,” says Bowinzki. Only the trend reversal has not occurred. “I noticed myself that I couldn't get close to the boys,” admits Böhm, who had only joined FC three months earlier. “From a human point of view, it was great, but we just had different ideas about football. As a coach, you notice that quickly. ”He didn't want to be any more specific. “Maybe the team expected more from me,” he said. In any case, it was the “better option” “that we end the whole thing without any fuss”. But he continues to maintain a good relationship with the club's management. "We also wish him more luck in his next coaching position," emphasizes Bowinzki.

Now the FC has probably the most busy coach in the district. Wall doesn't just train the Forsterner Reserve. The father of two boys (four and seven years old) continues to take care of the A-Juniors, the F 1-Juniors and the Bambini. According to Bowinzki, the board of directors is all the more grateful to Wall that he has now also taken on this responsibility.

So Wall has to reel off an almost unbelievable program. “It all started when my older son Luca started with the Bambini. That's why I wanted to train his team. He now plays in F1, which is why I also train this team. And Nicolai, my younger son, is now with the Bambini, ”says Wall. At some point he was asked if he could imagine training the A-youth as well. He couldn't say no to that either. Finally, the engagement with the second men's team was added.

He has seen many high-class coaches himself.

And he just wanted to pass this experience on.

“This is how I stand on the soccer field every day.

During the week there is training every day with any team, sometimes two units in a row.

And the games are on the weekend, ”reports Wall.

Due to his unsuccessful Achilles tendon operation, he is currently unable to work.

An expert opinion is currently being drawn up to clarify which occupation he can still pursue.

It could be that he will have to give up the coaching position in the A-youth again in the summer.

Wall's partner Daniela doesn't have too much of Benjamin at the moment: “But she knows me.

I am a footballer through and through.

I would be on the pitch like that too.

Otherwise I would be unbearable, ”said the four-time coach with a wink.

When he is at home on the weekend, he also watches football with his sons.

In the A-class, the new coach is still waiting for his first win with FC Forstern 2. Wall has since scored two points from four games with the current eleventh place in the table, "although we did an outstanding game".

Only the mistakes have to be eliminated and self-confidence has to be increased again.

Nevertheless, Wall's record is currently worse than that of its predecessor.

“Basically it was a difficult situation. I offered myself after the old coach no longer worked. I just couldn't watch this go down the drain, "says Wall, who has been optimistic so far despite the meager yield:" The impression is good, we are mostly 15 or 16 people in training. The intensity is good, and actually the guys are capable of more than what their place in the table suggests. If everyone does what they can, we can beat everyone ”. Nevertheless, after his coaching work in the youth field, it is now "something else" for the men.

On Sunday, Wall has to play with Forstern 2 at Grüntegernbach, second in the table.

"We had six or seven people in training on Tuesday, the rest of them are sick." Nevertheless, he does calculate something: "Just because TSV is second doesn't mean that he has to beat everyone," said Wall, der has another goal: He wants to get his coaching license.

Sometime.

Now it's all about staying up.
