Syria's bodybuilding team won 20 medals "3 gold, 9 silver and 8 bronze" in the Asian Championship held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, for the men and youth categories.
Haidara Sweidan won the three golds in Physique competitions 179 cm, Mahmoud Al-Shughari in the Masters, bodybuilding up to 80 kg, and Bashir Faris “bodybuilding 70 kg”.
As for the silverware, it went to Asef Al-Saleh “Physic above 182 cm”, Khaled Al-Masry “Classic 171 cm”, Mahmoud Al-Shughari “Classic Physique Open”, Othman Hajo “Classic Physique 170 cm”, Ali Deeb “for the youth category for building bodies up to 80 kg” and Badr Al-Manqal “Masters for bodybuilding up to 80 kg” Amin Al-Harith, “Masters in bodybuilding over 80 kg”, Wael Al-Samkari “bodybuilding at 75 kg”, and Alaa Al-Nabeeb “bodybuilding at 85 kg”.
As for the bronzes, they were won by Muhammad Al-Rifai “Classic 180 cm”, Shadi Al-Gash “Classic over 180 cm”, Othman Hajjo “Masters in Body Building up to 80 kg”, Amin Al Haris “Bodybuilding up to 90 kg”, Ammar Youssef “Bodybuilding + 100 kg”, Muhammad Qasim Ahmed “Physic 173 cm” and Muhammad Yellow “Physique 179 cm” and Karam Al-Safadi “Physic 182 cm”.
Our team came in second place in the overall ranking of the participating teams behind the Iraqi team, and Palestine came third, Lebanon fourth, Qatar in fifth, Pakistan sixth, and India seventh.
