The Jordanian Football Federation has called on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to launch an investigation to verify the gender of a player of the Iranian team suspected of being a man, after a meeting between the two teams.
Hypothesis strongly denied by Tehran.
Iran qualified for the first 2022 Women's Asian Cup by beating Jordan on penalties 4-2 on September 25, thanks in part to two saves by goalkeeper Zohreh Koudaei.
The President of the Jordanian Federation, Prince Ali Ben al-Hussein on Sunday posted on Twitter a letter dated November 5 "requesting verification of the sex" of Koudaei.
According to the Jordanian Federation, which has doubts about "the eligibility of the player", Iran has a "record regarding gender and doping issues".
No relevance to previous tweets but it's a very serious issue if true.

Iranian coach Maryam Irandoust called these accusations "false pretenses" for "not accepting defeat" and said she was ready to "provide any document requested by the AFC".
"The medical staff carefully examined every player on the national team" to check for "hormones" and "to avoid any problems," she told Iranian sports media Varzesh3 on Sunday.
The Women's Asian Cup is scheduled to take place in India from January 20 to February 6.
