After eight encounters without a win, FCL wrestled FC Aschheim 2-1
Langengeisling - The cheers among the players and fans of FC Langengeisling were indescribable when goalkeeper Christian Brader defused a free kick in the 94th minute, in the last action of the game, and thus kept the 2: 1 (2: 0).
After eight games without a win, the three was celebrated euphorically.
Already in the 5th minute Robert Söltl had the lead for Aschheim after an unfortunate return of the header, but the lift over Brader just missed the goal. After another chance for the FCA, initiated again by Söltl, the Geislinger took over the reins. When Aschheim returned to the goalkeeper, Maxi Birnbeck put the toe in between and extended the ball to 1-0 into the far corner (20th). And ten minutes later Maxi Maier headed a perfect cross from Hannes Dornauer to make it 2-0. Aschheim did not get along with the Geislinger Pressing at all at this stage, and so guest coach Thomas Seethaler replaced two players early on.
In the second half a completely different game, because now Aschheim dominated. The game also got rougher, and referee Quirin Wildhagen had his hands full, but had the game under control at all times. After an hour of play, Dornauer withdrew, FCA goalkeeper Pascal Jakob could only clap, but Niko Simak, standing alone in front of the goal, couldn't control the ball and warped. The 3-0 would have been the decision, but the Geislinger had to tremble.
First, Brader saved with a defensive foot outside the penalty area against Söltl (62nd). The guests felt the nervousness of the hosts and tried it with wide balls when it was pouring rain. And after the two minutes before substitute Simon Reitmayer had reduced to 1: 2 after a cross from the strong Malcolm Olwa, it was really tight for the Geislingers, who were now formally constricted in their half.
The final phase then became really dramatic.
In the 91st minute, Maurice Steck came on for Langengeisling and almost made it 3-1 with his first contact with the ball.
Three minutes later, Michael Faltlhauser straddled an opponent at the edge of the penalty area and had to leave the field with the traffic light card.
Olwa pulled the due free kick over the wall, Brader saved, the referee whistled from the whistle, and the Langengeisling celebrations could begin.
