The Karate Federation will conclude its local championships for this year the day after tomorrow by holding the Elite Championship for the age groups under 14, 16 and 18 years in individual kata competitions and individual combat, in Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
The President of the Game Federation, Jihad Mia, explained in a statement to SANA that this tournament is the sixth internal activity of the federation within its annual plan for the current year, which witnessed various tournaments held in the governorates of Damascus, Latakia, Hama and Aleppo.
Mia added: “The players with the highest points were invited to participate in the tournament, based on the age group system, according to the points program that has been implemented since the beginning of this year. Therefore, the tournament is expected to witness strong competitions and an advanced technical level for the players, because they were the best during the past classification tournaments.”
Mia pointed out that players with special needs in Deir Atiyah will be invited to present a presentation in the tournament, as part of their integration into society, indicating that on the sidelines of the tournament, a central session for referees will be held in the Governorate Club, with the participation of more than 50 referees from different governorates.
