Syrian child Daniel Ayman Abaza won two gold medals in collective karate and karate mix during the 28th World Karate Championships Shotokan held in the Serbian city of Zrinanen.
Abaza won a bronze medal in the free fighting, while the referee and the Syrian player residing in Bulgaria, Muhammad Hasna, who insisted that his participation be in the name of Syria, won the bronze medal in the free fight.
The coach and referee, Muhammad Al-Rifai, who holds Romanian citizenship, also insisted on participating in the name of Syria, as the Syrian flag was raised high in this tournament.
