The Syrian basketball team lost its first friendly match against the leader of the Iranian league, Shahdari Karkan, with a score of 70-62 points, in its camp in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.
Our team advanced in the first quarter by 15-14 points, while the second came in favor of Karkan by 21-19 points, and our team returned to advance in the third with 19-14, while the fourth quarter was in the interest of the Iranian team with 21-9 points, so the final result became 70 compared to 62 points.
The referee for the meeting was the Iranian referee, Shahram Karmi, and the two Syrian referees, Salah Danan and Muhammad Aba Ji.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian team includes four players from the first team in addition to two American professionals.
Our team will meet next Thursday with the fourth-ranked team of the Iranian League, Schmider, and the Iranian team will meet next Saturday.
