Summary: Israel - Faroe Islands 2: 3 (Sport 1)

In the 1994 World Cup qualifiers, the Israeli team returned to the European area after 12 years and has not left it since. The renewed tuition fee was high and Shlomo Sharaf's team took out no less than 27 goals from the network. It absorbed fifths from Austria and Sweden, losing 6 of its 10 games and achieving just one win: the same immortal 2: 3 against France at the Parc de France.

Nearly 30 years have passed. The blue-and-whites participated in 6 World Cup qualifiers and 7 Euro qualifiers - 13 campaigns in total. In the 14th, the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, have returned to soak up the bundles. No less than 21 balls were taken by Ofir Marciano from the net - the most since the return campaign to the UEFA.

Israel's goal difference in the World Cup qualifiers:

1994 - 27:10 (10 games)

1998 - 7: 9 (8 games)

2002 - 7:11 (8 games)

2006 - 10:15 (10 games)

2010 - 10:20 (10 games)

2014 - 14:19 (10 games)

2018 - 15:10 (10 games)

2022 - 21:23 (10 games)

3.23 goals per game, more than any other coach since Israel returned to the UEFA. Rotensteiner (Photo: Walla !, Udi Citation)

* 44 goals scored in the Israeli national team's games in the passing campaign are a record since our return to the UEFA. An average of 4.4 goals per game, slightly more than 4.1 in the Euro 2000 qualifying campaign.

* Those 44 goals make Israel's games in this campaign particularly attractive. San Marino's more goals have been scored so far - 47, and thanks to a 10-0 draw against England yesterday. On average, they are both above Israel so far,

averaging 2022 World Cup qualifiers:

1. Gibraltar, 4.77 (missing game)

2. San Marino, 4.7

3. Turkey, 4.44 (missing game)

4. Israel, 4.4

5. Netherlands, 4.3 (missing game) )

6. England, 4.2

7. Belgium, 4.1 (missing game)

* Only in the Euro 2000 qualifiers did Israel score more goals than the 23 of the 2022 qualifiers. So it scored 25 goals and did so in just 8 games.

13 goals in both games against San Marino made most of the difference, but the famous 0: 5 over Austria also helped.

* Belarus and Luxembourg - which, like Israel, were in the fourth tier at the time of the qualifiers - are the only teams from the first four tier to absorb more than Israel.

Belarus 24 goals in 8 games (3 goals per game) and Luxembourg 18 goals in 8 games (2.25 goals per game).

Israel with 2.1 absorbs per game.

* Willy Rotensteiner will leave his position as coach of the Israeli national team after 19 games.

In the 17 official games under the Austrian, Israel scored 30 and conceded 25 - 55 goals, 3.23 per game.

This is the highest average of a coach in the Israeli national team since returning to the UEFA.

* Israel introduced one of the oldest staffs in Europe in the campaign.

In 2: 5 against Austria, the average age of the team players was 30.4 - the fourth highest in the 243 games that have taken place so far in the World Cup qualifiers in Europe (!).

Only Iceland (two games) and Armenia (one game) brought up older teams.

* More about age: 5 games under Rotensteiner now occupy the top 5 places in the table of the oldest teams of the Israeli team of all time, 4 of them in the campaign that ended yesterday and another in the playoff game against Scotland in 2020.

In all of them the age is around 30.

* Last in matters of age: At 2: 3 yesterday Rotensteiner placed his most "young" lineup since taking office.

Without Zahavi and with Podogurano, the average age dropped to 27.7.

For comparison: the youngest team in the current campaign belonged to England (against San Marino) and the average age was 24.4.

Spain, Norway, Iceland, Turkey, Wales, Ukraine, Germany and Poland also qualified for vehicles with an average age of around 25.
