At AS Bayonne, we do not negotiate. While the women demanded better training conditions, their leaders have them so

At AS Bayonne, we get a clear cut, and too bad for the women!

While the players had expressed their concerns about their training conditions and boycotted the Coupe de France meeting against Toulouse Stadium, their leaders showed their solidarity by… declaring the team forfeit for the rest of the Elite season 1 Feminine!

Meeting Monday evening, the Board of Directors did not do in detail.

And the elected officials have, this time proved that they were in solidarity (among themselves) since 18 supported the proposal, only one member choosing to abstain.

According to France Bleu, the players learned the news Tuesday evening, during a meeting at the Stade Pierre Cacareigt.

While they hoped that the leaders provide answers to their concerns, the latter informed them of their radical decision.

During this interview which lasted more than an hour, Gilles Peynoche, the president, explained that his club, the Bayonne Sports Association (not to be confused with the Aviron bayonnais) did not have the capacity and the means to support a team playing in the elite of women's rugby, while the men's team is in Federal 3.

On Sunday, November 7, in an open letter, the players had expressed their concerns, explaining in particular that the lack of staff, endangered their "physical and moral integrity.

"According to France Bleu, they also denounced the fact that their requirements (access to the weight room, presence of a physical trainer), to continue to exist at the highest level of rugby are perceived" as the whims of princesses.

An open letter that their leaders did not seem to appreciate.
