The two-time Grand Slam winner Garbiñe Muguruza and, surprisingly, Estonian Anett Kontaveit are in the final of the season finale of the tennis tour.
Muguruza defeated her Spanish compatriot Paula Badosa 6: 3, 6: 3 on the way to her possible first title at the WTA Finals.
Kontaveit won 6: 1, 3: 6, 6: 3 against Maria Sakkari from Greece in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Kontaveit was the lowest seeded player at the season finale originally set in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, which is now taking place in Mexico.
This year there will definitely be a new winner at the final tournament for the best women players of the season.
The German number one Angelique Kerber did not qualify for Guadalajara despite a strong second half of the year.
Last year the WTA Finals were canceled due to the corona pandemic.
