Again no indoor tournaments in Erding?

Erding - The young footballers have to do without the indoor championships this year as well.

Willi Brambring confirmed this yesterday at the request of the local newspaper.

The district management of the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) left the districts free to choose, said Brambring.

The Donau / Isar district unanimously decided in its meeting this week to forego the event.

"And I don't know of any other group that will carry it out," says the Erdinger group leader.

It would have been very slimmed-down championships anyway, as the district would only have allowed a field of six instead of ten teams per age group. With that, the smaller clubs would have been out anyway, as Brambring regrets. "Nevertheless, we would have pulled through the indoor championships, the preparatory work has already been done." But the development of the corona pandemic is forcing the district to cancel the tournaments.

“You can't expect a club to align,” explains Brambring. The contract was awarded to TuS Oberding, who would stand by their word and hold the games, as Brambring says, "but nobody wants that from TuS". For the indoor championships, 2G would apply, which would mean for the organizer: cordoning off areas, setting up control stations. In addition, hardly any spectators would come. “And even if that is not the main argument, the organizing clubs should always earn a little something from the kiosk. That too is hardly possible, ”says Brambring, who, however, also has something positive to report. “We were able to play through the point round in the open air completely. And I also assume that we will be able to continue playing as planned after Easter. "He was delighted.that most of the young players came back after the Corona break and that he could put together larger play groups again (report to follow). Brambring is also happy that at least indoor training is still allowed. "It is important that the children and young people get together again." He also knew that despite all the movement, the crowning glory was always the tournaments - "at least up to the C-youth".

In addition to the district championships, almost all tournaments of the individual clubs will be canceled. “In the Strogenhalle, the distance rules cannot be observed with the spectators,” explains Ernst Halir, head of football at TSV Wartenberg. The club decided to cancel two weeks ago. According to youth leader Jens Baumbach, no invitations have yet been received from other clubs.

The BSG Taufkirchen will also not be holding magic booths because of the Corona situation. "In addition, our triple gym was demolished to make way for a new building," explains department head Ferdinand Schediwy. The situation is similar at SpVgg Altenerding, which could not have held its Amadeus tournament just because of the renovations in the Semptsporthalle. "Given the current situation, we would certainly have canceled it, because under these conditions it simply makes no sense to do it," says department head Andreas Heilmaier.

TuS Oberding would have its own indoor tournament in mid-February on two weekends. “We don't currently know whether we will host it,” says department head Tobias Huber. A decision had to be made soon, because the tournament books had to go to print and teams had to be invited. “Very difficult for us,” says Huber. After all, it would be the 35th indoor tournament in which the club wanted to come up with "something special". But Huber also says: "An indoor tournament with few spectators or with young people who are then not allowed to play because of the current 2G status would not be the same as usual." Huber: "We will not discuss a final decision in the Board of Directors until next week." The Sparkassen-Cup, which the TuS should also have hosted, was canceled three weeks ago.
