The soccer players of Bayern Munich have beaten the record winners of Olympique Lyon in the Champions League.
Previously, newcomer TSG Hoffenheim had clearly lost the group game against FC Barcelona again.
It was Saki Kumagai, who came to Munich from Lyon at the beginning of the season, who headed the winning goal for a strong Bayern team after a corner in the 69th minute.
The 2011 world champion had played for the French for eight years, winning the Champions League five times before moving to Munich in the summer.
For Lyon it was the first point loss in the fourth game of the premier class, in the domestic league the team has won all matches so far.
In Group D, the Munich team remain in second place with seven points behind Lyon (nine) and have a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals.
A week ago, the German champions lost 2-1 in Lyon and then suffered another defeat in the championship with a 1-0 defeat against VfL Wolfsburg.
Hoffenheim, on the other hand, is facing the end after the third defeat in a row.
One week after the 4-0 defeat in Barcelona, the next significant defeat was the result.
The captain Alexia, twice successful in the first leg with a penalty kick (41st), Irene Paredes (53rd), Aitana Bonmati (57th), Marta Torrejon (89th) and Ana Maria Crnogorcevic (90th + 2) ensured clear conditions.
While Barcelona were the first team to win the quarter-final ticket, the knockout round for Bundesliga second Hoffenheim with only three points from four games is a long way off.
On Thursday (6.45 p.m., stream: DAZN) Wolfsburg is challenged one week after the 2-2 at Juventus Turin in the home game against the Italian champions.
