The German ski racer Lena Dürr achieved her first podium in a slalom World Cup in Levi, Finland.
The 30-year-old fought her way from sixth to third thanks to a strong second run.
"So cool, we've all been crying together," said Dürr after her success on ARD.
It was time to finally finish in the top three.
There were also congratulations from overall World Cup winner Petra Vlhova, who won the Lapland Torlauf for the third time in a row.
Second was the two-time Olympic and Sölden winner Mikaela Shiffrin.
"They also saw that I always had good trips, but it was never enough," said Dürr.
First podium in slalom in eight years
After her best result in a slalom race, the technology specialist can also plan for the Olympics.
A top 8 or two top 15 places are necessary during the season to crack the national norm for the Beijing Winter Games.
The athlete from SV Germering had already celebrated a World Cup victory in the parallel slalom in Moscow in 2013.
"But with such a real slalom it's a different feeling," said Dürr, who was able to top her good seventh place from the previous week in Lech.
"In terms of skiing, that was a great performance," said national coach Jürgen Graller.
Already during training it became clear that a lot is possible: "Extremely good, this is the first podium for us in eight years in slalom."
18-year-old Aicher is also convincing
Overall World Cup winner Petra Vlhova won the Lapland race.
The Slovakian had already won the two goal runs in Levi last winter.
Third was the two-time Olympic and Sölden winner Mikaela Shiffrin, 0.31 seconds behind.
In addition to Dürr, 18-year-old Emma Aicher impressed from the five-man German ski line-up with 14th place. Last winter, Aicher was surprisingly nominated for the parallel team competition at the World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo and won bronze with the German team.
