Football again hit by Covid-19.

Faced with an outbreak, Saxony took new anti-Covid restrictions on Friday and banned all sporting events from the public, at least until December 12, in addition to many other precautionary measures.

RB Leipzig will thus be forced to play behind closed doors again in the coming weeks.

Opponents of PSG in the Champions League, which they have already faced twice in the group stage, the German club will at least have to do without its supporters for its Bundesliga matches against Leverkusen (November 28) and Mönchengladbach (December 11), as well as his crucial C1 meeting against Manchester City on December 7.

"The power in Saxony has so far not been able to come up with a valid plan to contain the pandemic".

On Saturday, the RB sharply criticized the regional executive for having allowed the situation to degenerate: “The highest level of infection of all German Länder and the lowest vaccination rate demonstrate that the power in Saxony has not until here not been able to propose a valid plan to contain the pandemic ”, criticized the management of the club in a press release.

Saxony is both the least vaccinated Land in Germany (less than 60%) and the one where the incidence of the Coronavirus is currently the highest, with 594 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the last seven days.
