Al-Hasakah - Sana
The player Hossam Daghim won the first place in the Al-Hasakah Chess Championship for the category of under ten years, which was established by the Executive Committee of the Sports Federation and the Safsaf Al-Khabour Cultural Association in cooperation with the Sawa Youth Project on the occasion of the International Children’s Day.
The tournament, which was held in the gym in Al-Hasakah, in which 22 players from various sports clubs in the governorate participated in strong competitions. After Dughim came first, Tim Hassan and Ahmed Dughaim came in second, while Mohammed Zain came third.
Head of the Chess Technical Committee in Al-Hasakah Mithaq Al-Hassan pointed out, in a statement to SANA, the importance of young age groups and the necessity of holding tournaments for such groups in a way that contributes to refining their skills, indicating that the players showed outstanding technical skills in the tournament, which indicates the development of the game in the governorate.
A number of players indicated that the tournament gave them the opportunity to play with competitors from outside their clubs, which allowed them to learn new plans and skills, stressing their readiness to participate in the tournaments that will be held in the rest of the governorates and achieve distinguished results in them.
