Markus Anfang has resigned as coach of the second division soccer team Werder Bremen.
According to the association, the reason for the decision is the public prosecutor's investigation against the coach and the resulting unrest in the association.
Co-trainer Florian Junge has also resigned, the message from Bremen states that there are public prosecutor's investigations against “both trainers”.
»Markus and Florian take on responsibility with their step and thus contribute to ending the unrest that has arisen around the club and the team in the last few days.
We respect your decision and will now start looking for a new head coach, «said Frank Baumann, Managing Director of Football.
In the top game against Schalke 04 on Saturday evening, assistant coach Danjiel Zenkovic will look after the team.
