With an impressive winning streak, EC Peiting has played its way up in the major league.

The word "lose" had become a foreign word - until the guest performance in Memmingen.

Peiting

- One thing was clear from the start: One of the two successful streaks would come to an end. The host ECDC Memmingen had won six times, the EC Peiting seven times in a row. In the end, it was the Peitinger who after the 3: 6 (1: 3, 0: 1, 2: 2) left the ice as a loser again. Like two days before in the home game against Passau, the Peitinger had to do without their three strikers Eetu-Ville Arkiomaa, Manuel Bartsch and Daniel Reichert this time. And it immediately became clear: this time they could not compensate for these failures. The Memminger put pressure from the beginning and did not let the opponent develop at all. After just 96 seconds, Fabian Weyrich got his first penalty time, which the ECP only survived with a lot of effort and a lot of luck without damage.

Ice hockey: Peiting in the first third only sparse in the attack

But even without being outnumbered, the protégés of coach Anton Saal hardly came out of their third.

The 1-0 through a solid shot by Christopher Kasten from the blue line (6th) was well deserved.

Andreas Magg, who was guarding the Peitinger box this time, had no chance.

In the first section, the ECP came only sparsely in front of the opposing box, but it was extremely effective.

In the very first outnumbered game, Nardo Nagtzaam hammered the disc after a pass from Ty Morris to make it 1-1 into the net (15th).

The joy only lasted for a short time: Less than a minute later, Petr Pohl converted a ripped off penalty to 2: 1 (16 th).

Memmingen did not give up, the ECP could not free themselves at all during a short game and also had to accept the 1: 3 from Donat Peter (19th).

Ice hockey: Entertaining fistfight by Lukas Gohlke with Memmingen's Moritz Raab

Whatever Peitings Coach Saal had given his players for the second period, his words fell on fertile ground. The Peitinger were now more active and disturbed the Memminger early on. The "Indians" therefore appeared much less frequently in front of Magg's housing in this section. In the game ahead, however, there was still very little convergence among the guests. In general, it was a rather disheveled third. Numerous interruptions ensured that the flow of the game did not even arise on either side. In the middle of the section, the game was interrupted for several minutes, as a few holes in the ice had to be plugged first. Then Lukas Gohlke and Moritz Raab from Memmingen fought a fistfight before they shook hands and laughed and drove to the penalty box.The sporting highlight of this rather insignificant section was the 4: 1 by Jaroslav Hafenrichter after a determined individual performance during a Memmingen majority game (37th).

Ice hockey: EC Peiting's hope of a turnaround was short-lived

At the beginning of the final section, the Peitinger gave the impression that they obviously did not believe in a change for the better.

They allowed some high-profile chances for the opponent, but they didn't bring anything countable.

There was a lot of luck for the ECP, including Sergei Topol hit the post (44th).

But then the Allgäu switched too much into administration mode.

The ECP suddenly came up stronger - and after the goals of Nagtzaam in the minority (52nd) and Maximilian Söll (56th), this game was suddenly exciting again.

Not for long, however: Just 45 seconds later, the Memmingen team finished an outnumbered game with the 5: 3.

Then Saal took his goalkeeper off the ice in favor of another outfield player, and the ECP also scored the sixth goal (59th).
