Very few people have heard of American MMA fighter Donovan Salvato, who at 29 has made a total of four fights in his short career (1: 3 balance).
But that is likely to change very soon, and not because of an impressive Salvato win or a prestigious title win.
Tonight (Saturday through Sunday) it was reported in the United States that Salvato was arrested in Nashville and held more than 12 hours after he was suspected of biting his roommate's testicles during an argument that broke out between them.
"Salbato was detained for more than 12 hours after being arrested for aggravated assault on his roommate," the United States said.
"When police arrived at the scene they found Salvato's partner bruised and bleeding, with a cut about six inches long on his scrotum."

The argument between the two began when the MMA fighter's partner demanded that he leave the apartment, and Salbato seemed to really dislike it.
"The victim claims that he was first attacked by his friend with punches to the head and body, and immediately afterwards he bit his testicles until he caused him to bleed," the report added.
"At first the fighter claimed he was innocent, and that the injuries inflicted on his friend were unrelated to him, but later relented and pleaded guilty."
Local police are expected to continue the investigation, as it is still unclear what will be the sentence of Salvato, who has meanwhile been released under house arrest.
