According to the announcement, the conversation lasted 30 minutes and Feng Shui thanked the Olympic Committee for the concern and explained that she is safe and well and is at home in Beijing, but wants her privacy respected so she prefers to spend time with her friends and family right now.
Despite this, she will continue to be involved in tennis.
"I was relieved to see that Feng Shui was fine, that was our biggest concern," said Emma Truhu, "she seemed calm. I offered her all our support so she could stay in touch at any time that was convenient for her, and she appreciated that."
Bach invited Feng Shui to dinner when he arrived in Beijing in January and she agreed.
