Filser is rewarded for a furious second run

After crossing the finish line, Andrea Filser clenched her fist and beamed into the television camera.

What she already knew at this point was that she had managed an exceptionally good run.

- At the World Cup slalom in Levi (Finland), the Wildsteig qualified for the second run on Sunday in 29th place.

In this crucial run she then showed an excellent performance and improved a whopping eleven places.

18th place is her best World Cup placement to date.

"I am overjoyed that I was in the second round again," said Filser.

“That was a step forward.” The course in Levi seems to suit the Wildsteigerin: Already last winter she got 23rd place in the World Cup there.

Alpine skiing: In the slalom on Saturday, Filser only missed the second run by a hair's breadth

Filser was unlucky in the first of the two slaloms on Saturday.

As 32nd of the first run, she only missed the second run by three hundredths of a second.

It was the second time within a few days that she missed the final run by a hair's breadth.

At the parallel slalom in Lech / Zürs the week before, Filser only missed the final by a single hundredth of a second.

The highlight from a German perspective was Levi Lena Dürr.

The 30-year-old from Germering made it onto the podium on both days, finishing third each time.

On both days, the Slovak Petra Vlhova was unbeatable.

She relegated Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) to second place in both competitions.
