On the fifth day of the Champions League group stage, Bayern won 2-1 (2-0) at Dynamo Kiev.
The Bavarians not only had to struggle with failures, but also with heavy snowdrifts in the Ukrainian capital.
After the surprising Bundesliga defeat in Augsburg, Bayern have reported back with a win. Bayern had a hard time at first. That didn't stop Robert Lewandowski from scoring a dream goal: in the 15th minute, he shot a rebound with an overhead kick from eleven meters into the goal. Without Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala, who are in quarantine, Bayern subsequently increased with a crossbar goal by Kingsley Coman (42nd).
In the second half, however, at temperatures around freezing point, they got into trouble defensively: Kiev's Mykola Shaparenko failed twice to Manuel Neuer (47th), Denys Garmash then hit through the legs of the national goalkeeper (70th).
It was Dynamo's first goal of the Champions League season.
Bayern had to improvise in the final phase, only four field players had taken their seats on the bench.
But they saved the victory over time.
