First report: Bremen - second division soccer club Werder Bremen has parted ways with head coach Markus Anfang.
The Bremen public prosecutor's office is investigating the football teacher on suspicion of forging a vaccination certificate, as it became known on Thursday (November 18, 2021).
On Friday (November 19, 2021) the public prosecutor confirmed the proceedings.
Initially, the allegations were rejected.
According to the club's official version, the head coach should now have resigned.
"Due to the now extremely stressful situation for the club, the team, my family and myself, I have decided that I will end my job as Werder Bremen's head coach with immediate effect", Markus Anfang is quoted as saying in a press release.
The kicker initially reported a dismissal from SV Werder Bremen.

This means that Bremen will be without a coach a few hours before the home game against FC Schalke 04 on Saturday evening (November 20, 2021, 8.30 p.m.).
