Election of a new committee for sports journalists

Members of the General Committee of the Sports Journalists Committee elected, during its meeting today in Damascus, a new committee composed of Iyad Nasser as chairperson, Ghassan Shamma as vice-chairman, Anwar al-Bakr as secretary, and Dana Awad, Imad Darwish, Muhammad al-Arsan and Ayman Bundaqji as members.

The head of the Journalists' Union, Musa Abdel Nour, pointed to the importance of the role of the Sports Journalists Committee in the media work by keeping pace with sports activities and organizing various events concerned with sports and media affairs, most notably honoring the owners of achievements in international tournaments.

Abdel Nour called on the new committee to develop a plan of action for the next phase to advance the sports media for the great role it plays in highlighting the achievements in addition to keeping pace with sports activities.

It is noteworthy that the previous committee for sports journalists was elected in 2016 and included Iyad Nasser as chairperson, Ghassan Shamma, Anwar al-Bakr, Abeer Ali, Imad Darwish, Hisham al-Lahham and Ayman Falhout as members.
