The International Federation of Football History and Statistics announced today, Thursday, that the Polish Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich star, has won the award for the best player in the world for the second year in a row.
Lewandowski topped the list of the best players in the world for the year 2021 with 150 points, 45 points ahead of his runner-up, Argentine star Lionel Messi, the French striker, Paris Saint-Germain, followed by Italian Jorginho, the Chelsea midfielder, with 40 points.
Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City playmaker, came fourth with 35 points, while Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's top scorer, settled in fifth place with only 20 points, while Frenchman Kylian Mbappe ranked sixth and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo ranked seventh.
