The little movie posted on YouTube is called “
Fire
”.
And his vision oscillates between the sublime and the hypnotic.
The former tricolor slalomer Julien Lizeroux - he retired at the beginning of the year, at age 41 - takes up a new challenge: slide at full speed between 100 fiery poles, at night, of course.
This video was made in La Plagne by his friend the free skier Julien Régnier.
"
We needed two nights of testing before having the correct technique for lighting the poles, as well as a good evening of adjustments to manage the low lighting and the piloting of the drone
", explained the latter.
“
I had to deal with the unknown, the apprehension of not seeing anything between the stakes and the risk of fire.

The result was spectacular, with the 2009 slalom vice-world champion coming as close as possible to the flames.
"
Launching into the dark night with torches for only light, it is an experience that could not be more delicate," commented Julien Lizeroux.
I had to deal with the unknown, the apprehension of not seeing anything between the stakes and the risk of fire.

The Savoyard skier will organize on April 2, 2022, still in La Plagne, his resort, the 4th edition of the Super Slalom: 300 poles to swallow in one go on a 4 km track.
