The EC Peiting has turned back on the road to success at EV Füssen.

Coach Anton Saal was only one thing important after the game: That Justus Meyl gets well.

Feet

- It's very quiet on Friday evening in the Füssen ice rink anyway. Sometimes you can hear the coaches calling, sometimes a player complaining. But there are no audience chants: The ice hockey league game of the EC Peiting at EV Füssen has to take place as a ghost game due to the corona. And as quiet as it is anyway, in the 22nd minute it gets even quieter. After a check by the ECP striker Marco Habermann, Justus Meyl goes to the ground and remains with his face on the ice. The Sprade TV camera pans away so as not to broadcast the injured player live in the living room of the fans. Anxious minutes begin. It takes a quarter of an hour, then it becomes known: Meyl was briefly unconscious, but is responsive again, he is being taken to the hospital. The game can go on. Without any paralysis, both teams really crank it up afterwards.Ultimately, Peiting wins the contested duel 5: 3.

EV Füssen takes the lead three times against EC Peiting

Right from the start of the game there are chances here as well as over there.

Füssen takes the lead after a successful move.

Ondrej Zelenka pulls in the direction of Peitinger Tor, then puts the disc backwards without turning around - it lands right in front of Marco Deubler's bat, who pulls off directly and converts to 1-0.

In the second third, just one minute and 37 seconds have been played when Meyl goes down. Habermann's check is not unfair, the clash between the two is simply unfortunate. The Peitinger striker does not get a penalty when the game continues. Füssen is in attack mode immediately and has two chances. But in return, Peiting hits. Nardo Nagtzaam lays across the board on Heger, who shoots 1: 1. Then things go fast: Deubler brings the EVF back into the lead, Heger levels off again - and how! The attacker fakes a cross pass to Nagtzaam, instead he hammers the disc himself into the top right corner. But Marco Deubler just can't get the Peitinger under control. With his third goal of the day, he puts Füssen in the lead for the third time. And for the third time, the ECP compensates:This time captain Andreas Feuerecker slams the puck into the mesh. While Peiting is celebrating, the people of Füssen protest: They have previously seen an offside, and Florian Stauder is hooked with his opponent, both fall when Feuerecker leaves. But the goal counts. The EVF anger has not yet disappeared when Markus Czogallik uses a ricochet to lead the ECP 4: 3.

ECP trainer Anton Saal not satisfied

Shortly after the start of the last third, Czogallik added the 5: 3.

This makes it difficult for Füssen, on top of that Maximilian Dropmann is injured from the ice.

But the EVF bites, wants to avert the eighth defeat in a row.

The pace in the game is getting tougher, especially from Peitinger's side.

There are no whistles from the referees, Füssen hopes in vain for another power play.

Peiting brings home the three points.

But the performance does not convince coach Anton Saal.

“We scored the goals at the right time,” he says.

“But I'm not satisfied with the game.” Saal dismisses the fact that this is also irrelevant: “The most important thing is that Justus Meyl gets well again.”
